The King Patronizes the Launch of the “SOFEX 2026” Conference and Exhibition in Aqaba

Al-Taj News – His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, patronized today, Tuesday, the launch of the 15th edition of the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference “SOFEX 2026”, hosted by the Aqaba International Exhibition and Convention Centre. The exhibition and conference are organized in coordination with the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army, and it is one of the most prominent gatherings for manufacturers and providers of special operations equipment, to showcase the latest military technologies, defense solutions, and cybersecurity systems, as well as to exchange expertise and build partnerships between major global companies and participating official delegations.

His Majesty the King, in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II, listened to a briefing by the organizers of the exhibition on the themes of the conference and exhibition and the most prominent participants in this year’s edition, which is the largest in terms of exhibition space and number of participating countries.

More than 400 official delegations representing 75 brotherly and friendly countries, and 350 exhibiting companies from 38 countries are participating in the conference.

During the opening ceremony, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of “SOFEX” Company, Retired Major General Engineer Ayman Al-Batran, affirmed that the convening of this edition of the exhibition in Aqaba comes during a critical stage and increasingly complex regional challenges, explaining that dealing with these accelerating variables requires raising the level of readiness, enhancing international cooperation, and building integrated strategic partnerships between countries, armed forces, security agencies, innovators, and technology pioneers in the defense industries.
